In addition, Birth-to-Five, Inc.
- Distributes more than 1,500 free books to young children
in Wayne County through the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF)
program.
- Received a grant from the Wayne County Foundation
for staff members to become certified in a program entitled
"The Happiest Baby."
- Offers Kindergarten Readiness Workshops
to assist parents in understanding what it means for their
child to be ready for school. These occur each spring, during kindergarten
roundup. If a workshop is not available, a packet
of information and activities is provided.
- Provides developmental
screenings for well-child visits at the Wayne County Health
Clinic.
